Dear Ulrich, we (my husband, Baden and I, and others) had the pleasure of your company on an Oceania Cruise tour excursion on Monday, 17 July. We had a wonderful day with you in Berlin and I have to say thanks to your informed and witty commentary, and great individuality, it was a fabulous and memorable day. I really like your style. I'll certainly remember you and refer any friends to you should they be coming your way. Thanks for the memory & Kindest regards
Superb tour. Jochen was friendly, extremely knowledgeable (there wasn't a question he couldn't answer), and kept us moving along so we saw everything. Really knows his stuff when it comes to the cold war. The driver was also congenial and efficient, always right in the correct spot. Highest recommendation.
Hi Ulrich: Carol and I were delighted with our trip to Potsdam yesterday. Thanks for sharing your intimate knowledge of Berlin and the German culture with us. At the end of the day we felt we were part of your family!
I enjoyed a wonderful day with Klaus seeing sights and learning about Potsdam, Sans Souci and Frederick the Great. I felt very comfortable with his driving and with him personally.
Klaus’ knowledge was conveyed at just the right pace and in a relaxed manner. He was accommodating and flexible with what I was interested in and with his guiding time.
Klaus also thoroughly answered my many questions about Berlin and life before, during and after the Wall. The 7 hours flew by very pleasantly indeed. I highly recommend Klaus Kannen and DriverGuides Berlin.
Thank you Tom for the good service you have provided. Your way of describing the sights made them more interesting. We all enjoyed the Berlin tour very much n your skillful n safe driving.
We want to thank Sven so much for the fantastic tour that Paul and I enjoyed with him yesterday. His knowledge is first rate and covers a broad spectrum of topics and information. He has the ability to connect with people and to choose interesting activities and experiences for the day's tour, a feature that is not shared by all guides as we mentioned. Most importantly we felt very much a team with him as we explored the parts of Berlin that previously we did not know about. For us a day of learning, lunch and laughter with a great guy.
Tom was a fabulous guide, very informative and charming to be with. We enjoyed our two days we spent with him in Berlin. He went the extra mile to be helpful to us as well when he took us to the train station and helped us board.
He's the best!!
Extremely knowledgeable from history through current events, etc. Very personable. It was a most enjoyable and pleasant day with Sven. Highly recommended!
My wife and I have travelled all over the Europe and experienced fantastic guides in many different cities. But Klaus was far and away one of the best guides we have ever had. His breadth of knowledge and ability to share that knowledge in a manner that allowed us not to be overwhelmed but intrigued was second to none. Klaus does a fantastic job of relating to the client and providing insight into the history as well as future of Berlin and Germany.
What a pleasure to spend the day with Tom Foerster. His knowledge, his thoughtfulness in putting together a truly memorable day while making it seem effortless. We especially enjoyed his sense of humor and willingness to discuss all topics.
Very satisfied with Klaus touring and driving us thru Berlin. He was so knowledgeable, informative & courteous we could not have asked for better.
Matthias was equally fine, so the whole experience was excellent and would recommend this to anyone interested.
We had an very enjoyable tour to Potsdam with Klaus. He was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful (my wife uses a wheel chair) and a delight to be with for the whole day.
I was in Berlin on business and only had one full day free, so I wanted to make it count. Karin did not disappoint. She took me all over the city and shared her expert and personal insights. She was born and raised in Berlin so she has many personal experiences that she shared, which made the tour a step above the average tour. She was also very flexible and willing to adapt the tour to what I had already seen and not seen. We had a wonderful lunch together at the Bundestag, then finished the tour with a beer at an outdoor cafe. She knows so much about the city that I think you could easily spend two or three days with her. Highly recommended.
If you want to learn about Berlin Andreas is your guy. One of the best tours and experiences that I had.
I am more than satisfied with this tailor made tour just for my interests and needs! The guide Lars was one of the best I ever had in my rich traveling experience, very pleasant, skillfull, friendly, eager to show us all the best and most important things of Berlin! I strongly recommend him and these tours if you want to experience real atmosphere of Berlin.
We had two exceptionally fine days with Karin Schneider in Berlin. She greeted us at the hotel well ahead of time, drove us around this amazing city with the local knowledge only a good guide can have and was at all time extremely friendly and accomodating. By day two we felt like old friends. Add to that perfect weather and a super luxurious car and of course we are happy!
We had guests in Berlin for the weekend and the walking tour with Jochen was a perfect way for them to see the city and learn about the history. We really enjoyed hearing about the different layers of history and being taken through the little streets to get a sense of the city. It's a great way to get an orientation of the city and get some exercise while doing it!
We had a wonderful private tour of Potsdam with Klaus. Extremely cultured and knowledgeable, Klaus made history come alive for us. He picked us up at our hotel in a comfortable car and drove us first to Sanssouci where we visited the small palace. This was followed by a walk in the gardens to see the other structures. We then drove to Cecilienhof, the 19th century schloss where the famed Potsdam Conference took place. Afterwards, a drive-through beautiful Potsdam, seeing the 18th century Russian soldiers village and the quaint Dutch Village. We drove back to Berlin over the Glienecke Bridge, known as the "Bridge of Spies." We are not lingerers so we were able to do the tour door-to-door in five hours--yet we saw everything we wanted to and were never rushed. I would highly recommend Klaus for any Berlin tour. I should also mention that our tour with Klaus was at a very competitive price, in some cases half of what I was quoted by other tour operators.
Mr Brunner is a very knowledgable guide, who both knows and truly enjoys his subject. His enthusiasm for showing us interesting and unusual things made our tour unique and very enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the ability to customize it to focus on particular things we were interested to see. Mr Brunner was very well-prepared based on the areas of interest I had sent ahead of time, as well as the purpose of our visit. We hope to return to Berlin next spring and look forward to seeing other aspects of the area.
Quick word on logistics: in a word, they were flawless. The booking process was easy, communication prompt and complete, pickup at our hotel was flawless and, in fact, early. The clarity of the website made the booking process simple, and the ability to customize, rather than take a standardized tour, really stands out among your competitors.
Thank you Mr Brunner and team for a great experience.
We had a great tour and Lars really customized it to our requests. He was full of knowledge and took the time make sure we saw everything!
Our family of four was visiting Berlin for the first time over the Christmas holiday. We were so fortunate to have Ulrich Kilian as our personal tour guide. One entire day was spent on an extensive walking tour of Berlin. We saw far more than we would have been able to on our own, and it was wonderful not to have to worry about way-finding. Additionally, the commentary by Herr Kilian was extensively informative, while at the same time entertaining. All of our questions were answered. Integrating his personal story of growing up in West Berlin prior to unification into the narrative provided unique insight.
Another day we had a limo tour to Potsdam also with Herr Kilian. This was a wonderful way to efficiently see all of the high points in Potsdam and also along the way.
I can give Ulrich Kilian the highest recommendation for touring Berlin and surrounding areas, whether by car or by foot. Vielen Dank!
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the tour of Berlin that you gave us. Your knowledge is second to none and you really explained everything so well. You were an inspiration and I am now trying to learn more about the history of Berlin. Believe me when I say that this is music to my husbands ears as he loves anything to do with history!
There is a palpable energy to Berlin which is very difficult to describe and I have to say that it is the most fascinating place that I have ever visited. The only problem is that 2 days was not enough to take everything in, so I am going to have to come back! I will bring my husband and children next time and will definitely keep your details and book you for another tour!
There could possibly not be a better, more engaging, knowledgefull guide than Jochen.
It was a true honour to be guided thru Berlin with Jochens delightful comments and narration. A big round of applause and our warmest recommendations.
Ps. Why don't you have a 10 star raring? Jochen deserves twice as much as your highest 5. At least.
We did this private tour with Karin Schneider. She is a fantastic guide and a wonderful person. She made our trip to Berlin and the surrounding area so special. It was raining and she went out of her way to bring extra umbrellas and rain gear for us. She knew we were from abroad and may not have all the appropriate rain gear. She not only showed us Potsdam, but went out of her way to show us the historical attractions in the surrounding area. We have a young child and she made sure to tailor the tour to his needs and stamina. She even brought us pastries so we could try local fare and made sure we were comfortable. We could not have asked for more in a guide. Our only regret was that we didn't stay in Berlin longer to do more tours with her. We can't wait to make another trip to Berlin and have her show us other sites and attractions.
Our flight to Berlin was cancelled and the flight changed but Mr. Jokubeit was there waiting when we arrived. In addition to the flight cancellation, the airline lost our luggage and Mr. Jokubeit took us thru the 'lost luggage' process. A one hour transfer must have taken him at least four hours. We were overjoyed that he would be our Berlin tour guide. The tour was as complete and insightful as anyone could want. We highly recommend his services.
Klaus was our guide for a whole day in August 2015. I was traveling with my 18 year old son who is very interested in History and politics. Klaus is a very knowledgeable guy who provided loads of details about the history of Berlin. We had an amazing day and amazing time and we will remember it forever!! Thanks Klaus! we will definitely recommend you to our friends!!
